Please join us as we learn how to design, create, and maintain an annual fall vegetable garden in Central Texas. During this workshop we will dig, direct seed, transplant, and irrigate half of a 25’ x 50’ garden. The first half of the garden, the early fall garden, will have been planted in September. We will be able to see its progress and then repeat the steps to install the second half.
We will also be discussing soil testing, how to compost and mulch in an annual garden, how to interrupt pest cycles, and the fall planting calendar for Central Texas which includes but is not limited to; beans, beets, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, cilantro, garlic, kale, leek, lettuce, parsley, parsnip, and radish.
2 to 3 hours of indoor classroom instruction.
4 hours of outdoor hands on work.
Please bring a sack lunch and plenty of water. There are no restaurants or stores nearby.
